What’s on – Fireworks Special!

November approaches, which means once again it’s time to wrap your hands around a cup of mulled wine and enjoy some Pop, Bang, Whizz! with the kids!

Here’s our round-up of local bonfire and fireworks events happening in and around the Twickenham and Richmond area in 2013.  We will add to this if we hear of any more public events, so do get in touch if yours is missing.


NPL Fireworks Display, Teddington, 26th Oct

Once again the NPL Sports club in Teddington is holding a family fireworks display with all of the usual attractions, including real ale, a barbecue and live music from The Fish ’n’ Chippendales.

Gates open at 6pm and the fireworks start at 7:30pm.

Kingston Fireworks Display, 1st Nov

Kingston upon Thames Round Table & Rotary Club Fireworks Display promises to light up the sky with a big event, including children’s funfair rides from 6.30pm, Radio Jackie and music.

Gates open at 6:30pm and fireworks start at 8pm.

  • Date: Fri 1st November 2013, Gates 6.30pm, fireworks 8pm.
  • Location: Kingsmeadow Athletics and Fitness Centre Stadium
  • Tickets: advance tickets cost £5.00 for adults and £3.00 for children aged 5 – 11. Tickets at the gate: £6.00 for adults and £4.00 for children.

Kempton Fireworks Display, 2nd Nov

One of the biggest and best fireworks display in West London and very popular with families. There is a funfair on site as well as the Radio Jackie road show. Online ticket sales have already closed, but tickets are still aailable at selected local retailers or on the gate at the night.

  • Date: Sat 2nd November 2013. Gates open 5.30pm, fireworks start around 7:45pm.

Barnes Fireworks Display, 2nd Nov

Lighting up the skies for over 10 years with a spectacular pyrotechnics show, the Barnes fireworks display gets Guy Fawkes Night off to a big bang. There’s also a Make-a-Guy competition for kids, and the creator of the best Guy can join the torch lit procession and help to light the big bonfire at the event.

  • Date: Sat 2nd November 2013. Gates 5.30pm, fireworks around 7.45pm

Richmond Fireworks Display, 3rd Nov

The Richmond fireworks display is back with a spectacular evening of family fun, including a fully choreographed fireworks to music display with a Beatles theme. There will also be live entertainment, mulled wine, a funfair and more. Tickets can be bought on the gate but advance booking is strongly recommended as it sells out.

  • Date: Sun 3rd November 2013. Gates open 4.30pm, fireworks start at 7pm
  • Location: Richmond Athletics Ground
  • Tickets: Advance tickets cost £8 (adults), £5 (kids over 5), £25 (family). Tickets on the door cost £30 (family), £10 (adults) and £5 (kids over five). Under 5s go free.

Events at Local Schools and Clubs


Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts 2013 Family Bonfire Night Party is on Saturday 2nd November 2013. Tickets are available at the gate and parking is available at the German School. Fireworks start at 6pm


Collis Primary School in Teddington is having its annual fireworks event on Saturday 9th November 2013. As always, the fun will include fairground rides, a hog roast, vegetarian options, hot dogs and mulled wine.

  • Tickets: Advance tickets cost £16 per family, £4 single. Pre-school children go free. Tickets on the night cost £20 per family, £5 single.

Vineyard School in Richmond is also holding its annual and very popular celebration on Saturday 9th November. This usually includes a BBQ and mulled wine, tea, cakes and a juice bar, plus face-painting and entertainment in the hall for little ones.
