What’s on for kids this Easter?

In need of ideas for the Easter holidays? Here’s a round-up of some great activities on offer locally for kids in Twickenham, Richmond, Teddington and nearby areas. We’ll add to this as we hear of more events, so be sure to get in touch if your event is missing – and remember that many of these events sell out quickly!

Holiday Camps, activities and drop-in Workshops

 

KOOSA Kids Holiday Camps (ages 4-13)

Available at venues in Twickenham and Teddington. KOOSA Kids camps offer full days of fun and activity for children aged 4-13. Be sure to book early! More details

Easter Tennis & Technology camp (ages 8-13)

Enjoy sport and get creative online, learning to create online games and apps for Facebook, smartphones and the web. Runs from 7th-11th April 2014 at the National Physical Laboratory Pavilion, Teddington, with tennis coaching and digital making every day. More details

 

Forest School & Bushcraft holiday Sessions

Join Treehouse learning in Ham for special holiday sessions for kids – great for children who do not have access to Forest School during the school week. These sessions sell out quickly. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Adventures

Join Bridge Arts & Culture in Twickenham for a 5-day drama and storytelling adventure for ages 2-8. Available as a full week or drop-in on selected days. More details

 

Crash Course in Swimming (ages 3+)

Join Springboard at Stanley Primary School and you will be amazed at how much progress is made in one week! The course is suitable for non-swimmers and beginners from 3 years of age or children needing stroke improvement. More details

Easter Swimming at Teddington Pools

This Easter visit Teddington Pools for a selection of kids’ activities, including Swimming lessons, Fun Time Floats and a Diving workshop. More details

 

Rock Band Camp (ages 11-17) at Ritz Music & Tuition

A fantastic opportunity to learn a selection of classic rock/pop songs under the supervision of experienced professionals … all courses culminate with a performance evening at Ritz music! The Easter Course runs from April 7th to 10th. More details

Mozo Island Easter Club (ages 5-10)

Sing and play sunny pop songs with Guitars, Ukulele, Keyboards, Recorders, Drumming & more. Combining music and art activities for young beginners and intermediates. Located in Putney and Richmond, children can attend any combination of days. More details

 

Easter art workshops (ages 4-14)

Easter Holiday Rainbow Club

Running from Tuesday 8 April to Friday 11 April, Rainbow Club is an Easter holiday club for children from reception age through to year 6, with games, art and crafts, workshops, music, fun Bible teaching and more at St. Stephen’s Church. More details

Easter fun at Strawberry Hill House

A range of creative Easter workshops are available for kids at Strawberry Hill, including egg-painting, bunnies, super-salads and more. Booking essential. More details

 

Toddler fun time (under 5s)

Aimed at childen up to 5 years of age, Orleans Park Sports Centre has a bouncy castle, giant inflatable slide, small climbing frame and soft play shapes. Bring your little-uns along and let them run off some energy. More details

Frankie & Flo’s Play Cafe, Teddington

Relax, chat and have a really good coffee with delicious homemade cake, while chidren aged 5 & under run free in a friendly and inviting space. Older siblings are very welcome too. More details

 

Twickenham Twins’ Club playgroup

A well established social playgroup open to all families of twins or more. Meets weekly in Twickenham. More details

Storytime at the local libraries

All of the local libraries offer storytime sessions for little ones – or just pop in and make your own storytime! More details

 

Easter Crafternoons Workshops

Celebrate Easter at Happy Potter Ceramics with lots of different crafts to choose between while also making their very own egg cup! There will also be a daily Easter egg hunt in the garden after some snacks. More details

Saturday Spring Workshops at Happy Potter

Make beautiful spring headbands from paper and plastic flowers and big tissue paper pom poms to decorate your bedrooms! Or make your own personalised T-shirts and wear them home on the day. More details

 

Easter family workshops at the Museum of Richmond

Little Seedlings Gardening Club

Join the Little Seedlings Gardening Club at Osterley on selected Tuesdays to help your kids get hands-on. Please dress in old clothes for the outdoors and be prepared to get a little mucky. These drop-in sessions run from 12pm – 4pm. More details

TLC Family Easter Eggstravaganza

Join TLC Family for an Easter Eggstravaganza at The Little Gym, with a guided activity session (30 mins) and eggceptional story telling, music, songs and crafts (30 mins). For ages 4mths – 3 yrs. More details

 

Free Music Taster Lessons

Saturday 12th April is National Learn to Play Day and a great opportunity for children and/or adults to have a go at a musical instrument for free at Ritz Music and Tuition Centre in Richmond. All levels welcome. More details

Free Kids’ Rugby Open Day

NB: This event has been postponed until after the Easter hols – stay tuned for further details. (We’ve left the listing here to avoid confusing anyone who saw it last week and is wondering where it went!)

 

Easter Cupcake Workshop (ages 4+)

Join Collet’s Creations at Beany Boos Art & Craft Cafe on Monday 7th April for a 2-hour Easter cupcake decorating workshop for children, with all materials provided. Children also decorate their own box to take the cakes home in. More details

Bag sewing workshop (ages 11-16)

On three Tuesday evenings, this sewing workshop for girls will provide the pattern for a simple cross-body bag which can be customised by you, giving an introduction to patterns and machine sewing skills. More details

Easter Egg trail at Osterley

Become an Eggsplorer! Pick up a Trail Journal containing all the clues needed to complete the trail and an Eggsplorer Passport to be stamped along the way and a Cadbury Egghead. Or have fun on rope swings and build a den at the play trail. More details

Easter fun at Ham House

Follow the spring trail in the gardens to win a Cadbury chocolate Egghead. Family fun activities will also be taking place in the below stairs rooms and there is face-painting on selected dates. More details

 

Mini Pig Keeping and Easter Egg Hunt

Throughout Easter children can attend a novel and fun-filled class with Kew Little Pigs, helping to muck out, groom and feed micro-pigs. Classes are an hour long and should be booked in advance. More details

Easter at Kew Gardens

From Saturday 5th – Monday 21st April 2014, visit Kew Gardens as they celebrate 50 whipple-scrumptious years of Charlie Bucket and Willy Wonka. Activities are brought to you in partnership with the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre. More details

 

Easter at Hampton Court palace

Family Easter highlights at Hampton Court Palace include special trails, Create your own Georgian hat, the Chocolate Kitchens and lots of outdoor gatrden fun with the famous maze. More details

Egg-citing Easter at London Wetland Centre

Follow the New Life Trail to discover the babies, bugs and buds of spring. Meet the family of farmyard ducks and join in duckling games and enjoy Easter art sessions to create your own duckling-themed craft. Daily from 5th – 21st April. More details

 

Grand Easter Steam-up

London Water & Steam Museum has Easter Egg Hunts and bonnet making activity at this year’s Spring Steam Up. Running from April 18th – 21st, with a selection of Victorian Engines in steam. More details

Baby Boom at Hounslow Urban Farm

Hounslow Urban Farm runs regular family activities at school holidays and Easter is the time to meet all of the newborn baby animals. There are also Easter egg hunts and crafts on offer, and lots more. More details

 

Twickenham Play Beach

Now that the weather is starting to warm up, we thought we’d add a reminder about Twickenham’s fabulous free play beach, located on the riverside and open all year round, with great play features added last year. More details

Free Easter meal for kids

giraffe restaurant in Twickenham has asked us to mention that kids eat free on Easter Sunday. This very child-friendly restaurant is a stress-free place to take little ones if you don’t fancy cooking. More details
