Are you looking forward to the bank holiday weekend ahead? Here are some great ideas for ways to entertain the kids locally, in Twickenham, Richmond and the surrounding areas.

 


 

Top weekend tips

 
Whatson-May-2014Our first ‘top tip’ for the weekend is Kids Run Free, a brand new and totally free event for ages 0-16. This is taking part in Marble Hill Park on Saturday morning. To join in all you need to do is sign your child up on the website, print out their barcode and turn up. Read more

Our second ‘top tip’ is Springtime Safari, another fabulous and free family event taking place at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham on Sunday afternoon. This will include a mini safari to spot wildlife, fun craft activities from Orleans House Gallery, storytime sessions and activities with local Forest School, Wild Education. Read More

Last but not least, there is a free Family Fun Day on bank holiday Monday in Hampton Square, including a circus workshop, juggling, face painting and a market. Read more

Ideas from our what’s on calendar

 
Out calendar is full of everyday ideas for thinsg to do, rain or shine. This weekend, creative kids can enjoy arts and crafts at Beany Boos in Whitton, Richmond Pottery Café and Sunday Afternoon Art at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham

There’s drama and singing on offer with Dramacube, Perform Drama Classes, Poppet theatre and Popin Theatre – as well as Ritz Kids Voices in Richmond.

Sporty fun can be had at Half Backs Rugby, brand new lessons for ages 2 – 7 in Marble Hill Park. Plus there is Little Kickers and Little Rugby and Toddler fun time and family roller disco at Orleans Park Sports Centre.

Now that the sunshine is beginning to peep out at intervals, don’t forget about Twickenham Play Beach – it’s totally free and open every day – and also take a look at Marble Hill Playcentres Adventure Playground.

Last but not least, parents can pick up great local produce at the local Farmers’ and artisan Markets in Richmond, Twickenham and Kew Village.
