What’s on this weekend? (17/18 May)
Are you looking forward to a glorious sunny weekend ahead? It looks like a perfect time to enjoy some of our lovely local events and green spaces. For anyone wanting ideas, here’s our weekly round-up of what’s on locally for families and kids.
Top weekend tips
Our top tip for Saturday is to bring your little ones to a Free Storytime Event at Waterstones with author and illustrator Jon Lycett-Smith. These events are running at the Twickenham and Richmond branches and are suitable for ages 3+. Read more
On Sunday don’t miss the Twickenham Green May Fair, organised by Jack and Jill School. This will be a lovely family event, including live music, a fun fair, pony rides, stalls, soft play, moshi monsters and much more. Read more
For those of you with Peppa Pig obsessives at home, there’s still time to grab some tickets for Peppa’s Big Splash at Richmond Theatre. Read more

Our calendar is full of everyday ideas for things to do, rain or shine.
Twickenham Play Beach is a great free option for enjoying a sunny weekend, as is Marble Hill Adventure Playground for older children. Kids can also burn off their energy indoors at Toddler Fun Time and Family Roller Disco at Orleans Park Sports Centre.
There’s drama and singing on offer with Dramacube, Perform, Poppet theatre, Popin Theatre and Ritz Kids Voices. Creative kids can also enjoy arts and crafts every week at Beany Boos in Whitton and Richmond Pottery Café.
Sporty fun can be had with Half Backs Rugby for ages 2 – 7 in Marble Hill Park. Plus there is Little Kickers, Little Rugby and Lil Dragons.
Last but not least, parents can pick up great bargains at the Mum2Mum market sale in Hampton or at the various local markets in Richmond and Twickenham.
