Twickermum lives in St Margarets with her family and enjoys making the most of Twickenham and Richmond and all that the local area has to offer. She created this online magazine in order to provide a friendly local hub for families and carers who’d like to be kept up to date with all of the news, events and fun activities going on in the area.

Richmond Borough Council runs many of the events that appear in Twickermum’s What’s On calendar as well as being responsible for many of the key listed services on our site, such as the local parks, libraries and children’s centres.

Twickenham Alive is a social enterprise operating primarily in Twickenham, but also within Richmond Borough as a whole. Twickenham Alive creates and organises community, entertainment and sporting events. Twickenham Alive is independent, but works closely with the RFU, the Twickenham Town Business Association and Richmond Council.

The National Trust for London and the South East keeps our what’s on calendar well stocked with regular updates on their fantastic events for kids and families at local properties such as Ham House and Osterley Park.

The local NCT branches in Twickenham and Richmond offer an excellent support network for local parents and parents-to-be and, on top of that, they run lots of local events such as weekly ‘bumps and babies’ meet-ups and nearly new sales that are open to all. Their team of experienced nurses are passionate about teaching CPR and choking techniques, accident prevention, first aid and managing childhood illnesses. The courses include lots of chances to ask questions and babies are always welcome.

Tempo Tots offers music making as a developmental tool for little ones. Run by Charlotte Miller, a qualified music therapist, each class features live interactive music making with a weekly theme, including stories, bubbles, puppets, singing, dancing and playing musical instruments. The classes also include on-hand support for parents, including topics such as child speech and language development, tummy time, hand and play skills and sensory play.

Their shows and workshops are aimed at reception children up to year 6 and get great results!
